SIAMS Report
Before the Easter break, Gunnerside School was inspected as a church school. The purpose of the inspection was to evaluate the school’s distinctiveness and effectiveness as a Methodist primary school. We all really enjoyed the visit as a chance to share what we do. Pupils at both schools were very articulate, explaining our approach to school life, our values and opportunities for spiritual development. The school was last inspected in 2010 and was graded ‘good’ at the time. Our recent inspection grade is ‘outstanding.’ We are delighted with the outcome that reflects the hard work of the staff team, the input of Reverend Janet and of course the fantastic approach that pupils have to school life. Well done everyone!
