Annapurna Indian Dance

Earlier this week, KS2 spent a super afternoon working with Annapurna Indian Dance. Shantha and Davinder demonstrated both traditional and modern dance, and shared the inspirational story of environmentalist Saalumarada Thimmakka, noted for her work in planting and tending an avenue of 385 banyan trees, and for planting close to 8,000 other trees. Everyone loved the drumming and the workshops that followed, with pupils taking part in Bangra dance, a stick dance and a dance inspired by nature. The afternoon culminated in a tree planting ceremony in the school grounds.

Thank you to parents that were able to join us, and well done to everyone involved for a super afternoon.
