Y1&2 pupils had a fantastic day visiting Bolton Castle, exploring life during the time of the Tudors. We met Mary Queen of Scots and enjoyed asking her questions  about her life and her time at the castle. We learnt how to dance a pavane and danced with the Queen....

We looked at some different artists that have been inspired by tribal art. We started to sketch our own ideas before making a final design; this was then used to create our own batik.  To make the batik we had to sketch our design lightly on fabric using a pencil....

Year 1&2 pupils spent the day studying the meadow habitat at Muker with staff from Yorkshire Dales National Park. They had a great time identifying buttercup, red clover, selfheal, oxeye daisy, cow parsley, bird's foot trefoil, bistort and germander speedwell.  

There were some heavy showers on Friday, but the sun came out in time for after school bike club. We enjoyed a super ride in Gunnerside Gill, with lots of variety and a great sense of adventure.
