Governors

A single governing body oversees the work of our two federated schools.

The three core functions of the governing body are:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  2. Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
  3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

The governing body was reconstituted in summer term 2025 and is now made up of:

  • One headteacher
  • Two parent governors
  • One staff governor
  • One LA governor
  • Two foundation governors
  • Four co-opted governors
  • Two associate governors

Our governors have a broad range of skills and expertise which they bring to their roles. Each member of the team takes responsibility for monitoring an aspect of the school development plan.

The full governing body meets eight times each year (3 meetings in the autumn and spring terms, 2 meetings in the summer term). The first meeting of each term is improvement focused, the second is primarily used to discuss resources and the final meeting is an opportunity for monitoring and evaluation. In the summer term the first meeting combines improvement and resources. Further information is available below.
